A-Z Theme Reveal: Poems on Famous Women
I have time now to catch up on my reading, since I quit work after I had twins. Ironically, I’ve been reading about famous women. I thought it would be fun to tease out the interesting parts of their lives, imagine that they are speaking and write dramatic monologues.

I certainly had fun writing them- I’ve got 13 so far, ranging from artists to criminals to feminists. They were inspiring to read, and I hope you enjoy them too.
I read Betty Friedan’s The Feminist Mystique, and I’m amazed it took me so long to discover it. I empathized with it and it has fired me up to do something more than be a stay at home mom. Read The Feminist Mystique here for free.
The A-Z blogging challenge always gives an extra push to my writing, and attracts quality readers. Last year, my most informed reader came from A-Z. I’m sure this time will be no different. It will be challenging to find time to write, post and read others, but I want to try.
This year I want to participate in Glo/NaPoWriMo. I like the resources they share on writing poems, they’re very useful. Although not too many readers come from there, it doesn’t matter.
Happy A-Z 2019 and Glo/NaPoWriMo 2019! I had written on the Bhagavad Gita last time for A-Z: Arjuna’s perspective in poetry. It culminated in a book, thanks to Blogchatter‘s ebook festival. I’m hoping for the same this time round as well. Here’s to discovering great writing and new friendships online.
